Course Content
- Exploring the Differences: Actors will examine the nuances between stage acting and on-camera acting, focusing on subtlety, realism, and the power of non-verbal communication in front of the camera.
- Audition Technique: Actors will learn the essential skills required for successful auditions, including understanding audition requirements, preparing audition materials, and presenting themselves confidently in front of casting directors for both TV Commercials & Film
- Preparing for a Role: Actors will delve into the process of preparing for a role, focusing on dissecting an audition script or TVC brief, character analysis, making choices and techniques for developing authentic performances.
- DIY Self Tape Process: Actors will work through the real-life aspects and challenges of shooting a self tape audition at home. We will discuss and practise framing, lighting, eyeline, camera set up & the reader’s role.
- Understanding Casting Directors' Expectations: Insights into what casting directors look for in auditions, including specific character traits, emotional range, and chemistry with other actors. This understanding will enable them to tailor their performances to meet the expectations of casting professionals.
- Dealing with the Emotional Rollercoaster: Acting often involves a rollercoaster of emotions. We will touch on techniques and approach to handle the pressures, anxieties, and rejections that can come with pursuing a career in acting.
Key Outcome
Introduction to the fundamentals of audition technique, what to expect when going into a casting studio, how to understand a casting brief and approaching a script. We offer these workshops at schools and on weekends at the our pop up studio.
